Holiday Campaign: Week 4
We're kicking off the fourth week of our holiday effort with the release of a new TV ad, focusing again on our call for Wal-Mart to take responsibility for its role in our country's product safety crisis. Watch our video today, and please be sure to forward the message on to a few friends. Help us make the holiday shopping season a little safer for everyone.
Holiday Campaign: Week 3
In the last year, Fourteen million toys have been part of major recalls in America. These are dangerous products that have caused needless deaths and serious injuries by exposing children to risks of choking, poisoning, dismemberment, burns, and other hazards. What company is leading this infusion of unsafe toys into the American market? You guessed it, Wal-Mart.
Through its relentless pressure on suppliers to reduce costs, Wal-Mart fosters a corporate culture that encourages cheap manufactures to cut costs and cut corners. The result is that American children are literally placed in harms way when they play with cheaply-made toys from retailers like Wal-Mart. Nothing is more unacceptable than allowing children to be put in harm's way. So, today we are calling on Senator Byron Dorgan, chair of the Subcommittee on Interstate Commerce, Trade & Tourism, to begin hearings on toy safety, and the impact of huge retailers like Wal-Mart on manufacturers. Though we are joined by several leading parent, consumer, and environmental advocacy groups, we still need your help to win the fight to ensure safer products for America's children. Please join us by writing your senators today. And Please remember to spread the word to your friends, family, and coworkers. Let this message be yet another way of wishing your loved ones a happy, joyous, and above all, safe holiday season. Holiday Campaign: Week 1
During our "Hope for the Holidays" campaign kickoff, we are reaching out to Wal-Mart's core customers. We're asking them to make a difference by thinking twice before they shop at a company that imports 70% of its products from China, sells dangerous toys to our children, and ships our good-paying jobs overseas. Read the press release for more details.
Our holiday campaign is all about accountability, and keeping customers safe. So, listen to our consumer education ad and please send it along to your friends..
Tracking Wal-Mart's Unsafe Products
We're working to make Wal-Mart accountable for selling dangerous items to consumers by giving shoppers access to the facts. As if our new database of unsafe products doesn't make the scope of Wal-Mart's product safety crisis apparent enough, we're asking all of you to share your experiences with potentially unsafe products found on Wal-Mart's shelves.
