Activists Gather Around the Country to Highlight Harm of Walmart's Sick Day Policy

Last fall, Walmart was exposed for its track record of giving employees "demerits" that can lead to termination when they call in sick. In addition, full-time Walmart associates aren't able to use their accrued sick leave for the first day they are sick.

In response, Wake Up Walmart teamed up with MomsRising.org to give Walmart demerits of their own.

Now, Wake Up Walmart is bringing the message directly to Walmart.

What: Supporters of Wake Up Walmart will educate consumers about Walmart's sick leave policy.

Where: 8400 Edgewater Dr, Oakland, California and in other locations throught the country.

Grassroots supporters of Wake Up Walmart, the Labor Project for Working Families, Assemblywoman Fiona Ma, and other coalition supporters

As part of a National Week of Action, Wake Up Walmart, MomsRising, the Labor Project on Working Families, California Assemblywoman Fiona Ma, and other coalition members will be holding a press conference to point out the harm that this policy causes.
